The reason I did not write it was that I was thinking it was a very simple script that almost everyone knows.
However, it seems to me that there is something I found advanced and that is simple for other people sometime, in this case, I thought simple and is not simple for someone.
We all have different expertise and we all try to learn new things, so I do not see any reason as to not write about the script to take the database online. I am looking for the correct steps in creating dynamic connection in SSIS to gather waits stats on all servers 40 plus servers. When I try to create this on my own, i seem to get stuck on trying to get the foreach loop container. Thanks for you help. Hi Pinal, Could you please help me with this, I want to know who put the database offline and when?
Regards, Ane. Actually i am a data Base developer, when ever i come across with any doubts You are the only one person where i can get a solution.
Please dont stop your Posting. Hi Pinal, i want to know about Offline Reporting in ssrs. My concern is this, when we set a database offline then whats necessary steps performed by SQL Engine. You need to trace and find what is causing the issue. Is there any antivirus on server and database is having autoclose setting as ON?
You dont give permissions to random people to take database offline in the first place as he who has authority to do so can easily get around any constraint you specify. Hi Pinal, i have read all comments here and they are quite impressive.
I have tried your scripts and the contents became visible but not accessible. Please help. Nupur Dave is a social media enthusiast and an independent consultant. SQL Scripts. Leave new.

The process may be different for activating the license for any other version of Windows Server. To perform an offline activation, I'll open up PowerShell as administrator on the Windows Server to activate and use the command slui 4.
This should give us a particular screen that asks us to select our country or region. Once we add this, it should provide us with a toll-free number and our product installation ID.
This installation ID is going to be between six and seven characters long, and as you can see here, ours is going to be seven. We'll dial the number, provide my information, and receive a text message with the special activation link. On my smartphone browser, I'll see a screen that asks how many digits are in the installation ID. In our case, we're going to choose seven numbers. It'll take us to another page where we'll enter nine fields of these seven digits as you see them on the screen.
So we'll go ahead, and I'll type these in on my phone. If you don't enter in these numbers precisely, the process will fail. Once I've registered all the numbers, I'll go ahead and hit the Submit button on my smartphone, and if all goes well, it should tell me, "Hey, here's another number for you to enter," which will be the confirmation ID.
Sometimes, it'll ask you how many computers the software's installed on. As long there's a proper key, I've never run into an issue where this actually would cause me to have problems.
Activate an offline Windows Server using the Windows Product Activation Center
But I'm going to say I've got this installed on one machine right now. I believe the key that we're using is a volume license key. Let's go ahead and get our confirmation ID, so now we can click on the next screen, and I can type in the confirmation ID. Once I've input the confirmation ID, it'll then hopefully prompt me with a screen letting me know I was successful.
If I get the "Thanks, you're all done" message, I'm successful! At this point, you will no longer see the "Windows is not activated" message in the bottom-right corner. You'll also find in Server Manager that "Windows is now activated. Fortunately, most Windows Servers won't need to be activated offline due to the additional steps required, but if you do run across this scenario, you should now have the know-how to get it done.

I move it, along with the folder containing the WSUScontent folder, to an external drive and bring them into my offline network and place them on the offline WSUS server in the corresponding directory to match.
I then import using "wsusutil. The import process seems to take a long time 5 hours. It doesn't produce any errors so I'm assuming its successful. However, the problem is my offline WSUS server I'm importing to doesn't seem to have all of the updates. It seems to have some of them but not others. After the import completes, my clients know they need updates but they cant seem to pull them down from WSUS.
WSUS Console tells me the machines need X updates and that detection seems to work great but when I go to the client and I try to check for updates, they report that they are up-to-date. I've checked their registry and made sure GPO has successfully directed them to the WSUS server but they just cant seem to pull the updates down. If I go into the updates section in the WSUS console and check the File Status for some of the updates, they say "This Update is Downloading" while others have the blank one that indicates its fine.
Obviously, we are not connected to the internet so its not possible for the updates to download. After all these issues I've had, I decided to start fresh on the offline server and I currently have it sitting here but I wanted to ask a few questions before I got started because I think I'm screwing this up and unfortunately exporting and importing the updates from my offline server take insanely long, and of course the first sync will take long and I figured I'd ask you guys before I do it again and blow another day trying to set it up.
My google-fu has been failing me and I couldn't really find answers to these things. If so, what do I put in the info? The Server Name field seems like it'd be invalid because the server I'm importing from is not connected to our network or should I be putting my offline servers name?
Do I select the checkbox "This is a replica of the upstream server"? I'm using Adam's WAM tool but the last time I used it it seemed to have declined a few thousand updates and left me with only approved updates, of which none of my clients could seem to pull down anyways. Is there a particular time I should be using WAM?
I used mostly default settings because it didn't seem like I needed to change them. Shouldn I be using the "Express Files" option? I feel like my research has indicated some people say don't, while some guides seem to say do. One of the things people love the most about Plex is how streamlined the experience is—and that streamlining is centered around their Plex accounts, access to the remote Plex central server, and how that ties all their settings and user experience together.
But for that experience to work, your computer needs to phone home to Plex and authenticate. Thankfully, there are two easy ways around the problem: tweaking how Plex uses the authentication system and, in special cases, falling back on the DLNA system as a backup. Before we proceed, there are two very important caveats. First and foremost, you must make these changes in advance. You have to be online and logged into your Plex account to make changes to your local Plex Media Server.
There is no way around this. Click on the wrench icon in the upper right corner to access your Settings menu. You can populate the box with two different types of entries.
A much easier way to approach it is to use a netmask, which is, simply, a way to specify multiple addresses. For example, if your local network uses IP addresses with the format Your local Plex server will stay open for business even without an active internet connection to phone home.Pendual offline server tutorial
In addition to disabling local authorization, as we did in the last section, there is an additional trick we want to take advantage of. DLNA is an older standard that allows local devices on your network to connect to each other for media access.

I looked at each of the services that are set for manual configuration and do not see any spicific service that may address my issues. Is there a spicific service I sould be looking for? Check your dashboard. Just to verify, I am working with windows server essentials. This new essentials dashboard does not indicate whether the server is on or off line.
I reviewed every tab, menu and sub menu but see nothing about server line status. Sorry to be a problem but I do appraise your help. All of my machines are able to connect and sign into LaunchPad, except one that reports the server as being offline, when it clearly isn't. I'm running out of things to check as the configuration of both the server and client PC appear to be fine. I noticed that this started just after I installed the patch from KB, which makes a fair amount of updates to the Dashboard.
It appears to me that the clients are all connected, but that the Essentials Server just isn't processing them. I don't see how the two items marked as answers are an answer I don't want to have to uninstall and reinstall all of the machines It cannot be assigned to the requested type Microsoft.
IContentNode PageContentAdorner IDevicesProvider, False, I have the same issue. None of the clients are part of the Domain - I have skipped using a domain through the reg edit workaround. I have noticed that if I reboot the server from one of the clients, after the server comes back online Dashboard and Launchpad both show the server as offline. I can access it as a remote desktop session through Windows though.
Logging on directly to the server shows all of the clients as "offline" in the "Devices" page, but shows the server as online. I seem to have stumbled across one scenario that seems to work:.
Dashboard, under "Devices", then shows the computer as online. Seems to be a repeatable scenario this despite sounding like a strange work around of sorts.Keep in touch and stay productive with Teams and Officeeven when you're working remotely. First, finish the directions I gave earlier re: stopping print spooler, cancel all documents, etc Any large metal objects, including building elements such as girders and even screen doors or windows, will interfere with the wireless signal. Even too many closed doors or walls will degrade the signal. If your wireless signal is weak or intermittent, move the printer closer to your wireless router and avoid obstructions.
